Little Journal Book

I made this little book (8cm x 10cm) with some leftover card scraps and one sheet of pink paper. The picture on the front is a smaller version of one of my collaged cards.
It has 12 pages ready for you to write in....perhaps a recipe, special note, Bible verse... anything you like.
To bind it together, I added a little stitch in the middle with some pretty lemon embroidery thread. It is now ready to pop in your handbag or pocket.

Fabric Scrappy Cards

I bought a heap of quilting squares at a garage sale recently.... not for quilting, but for my cards. I often put fabric on my cards and they seemed just perfect for what I had in mind.

Yes, I know this one is crooked...I was trying for a slight angle but it didn't quite work out the way I wanted. My daughter has her birthday in a few days and I know she will love this card.

Well, I never.... quiet critters on a Monday....

Today started out like my usual Monday.... everyone getting ready and leaving for work. Just as I was about to head out the door, I received a desperate call from my daughter who was on the bus on her way into the city for her first day at The Hotel School. "Mum, I have just thrown up all over myself... can you come and get me pleeeeeeeese???" So..... my day has changed and I am at home. When I returned from picking up my daughter I noticed that my critters weren't in my craft room.
They had made themselves at home in my dollhouse! They were in the loungeroom....

And in the bathroom, I hope they didn't overflow the bath.

They were in the bedroom... oh, that could have been awkward for me.....

In the kitchen, but who is supervising the toddler in the highchair??

See for yourself....they were everywhere! I don't know how I am going to get them to go to school to help the children....sigh.....

Quiet Critters on a Sunday Afternoon....

When there was a break in the rain, Lin and Deb sat out on the front porch and looked at the garden. Deb still can't believe that there really is a rose hidden amongst the climbing thunbergia...

Oh my goodness, Craig came out to check on the children.... can you kids please stop climbing on the roof!!

Sunday lunch is always a civilised affair.... and being serenaded on the piano was such a treat...

Quiet Critters

I am so fortunate to work with some amazing teachers in my role as a School Learning Support Officer. One of the teachers asked me would I make her Kindergarten class some quiet critters if she bought the supplies.... of course, the answer was a huge yes!! The chocolates she provided helped enormously in my creative process. The idea is that when a child is working quietly, a quiet critter will be put on their desk as a visual reminder that it is their quiet working time. These are the first two I made and they crept out into the garden to play when I went to make a cup of coffee.....

Scripture Seeds Envelope

Giving a friend a scripture seeds envelope is a great way of sharing God's word. I make these little envelopes up regularly and stencil a pretty design on the front. Inside, I pop in a few meaningful verses from the Bible that I have typed up and laminated for durability.

Miniature Envelopes

 https://www.etsy.com/shop/LinLovesPaper

Sometimes I like to pop a sweet, little note into a sweet, little envelope and give to someone special. I had some leftover serviette (napkin) paper that was just perfect to use to make the envelopes. The texture of the envelope feels like linen and is lovely to hold.

Botanical Fridge Magnets

I love making these botanical magnets. I use my paper scraps that have small, pretty pictures on them and glue them underneath glass pebbles. These pictures were from my serviette (napkin) scraps. Once the glue has dried, I then add a small magnet to the back. They are super-easy to make and are a great gift.
