The Helpful Elves Christmas Card

https://www.etsy.com/shop/LinLovesPaper

When I saw the serviettes with the elves on them, I knew I just had to craft with them! The cutting out was a little tricky but well worth it as the elves are adorable! The pom poms on the hats were just right for the effect I was after and a sprinkle of prisma glitter on their outfits made sure they were ready for anything.

The Birds of Happiness

https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/LinLovesPaper

When I saw these gorgeous paper serviettes in the shop I just had to buy a packet as I knew they would make lovely cards. I did a blue colour-wash for the background and added some liquid pearls to the flowers and finished the card off with a sparkly mauve dragonfly.

Paper Patchwork Card

https://www.etsy.com/shop/LinLovesPaper

I did a soft blue colour wash background for this card. Then I punched out 12 paper serviette squares to form my patchwork design. The finishing touches were some glitter glue around the edge and a stencilled Happy Birthday.

Cupcakes and Delicious Treats Card

A pretty paper serviette was the starting point for this card. Soft pink lace, bling for the cakes and a stencilled Happy Birthday were the finishing touches. Most of my cards are for sale in my Etsy shop

Matchbox Art....Dolly in the Bed

I had a lot of fun covering another empty matchbox. I used a page from an old children's book. For the pillow, sheets and bedcover, I used a pretty paper serviette, glued on to some light foam to give it a bit of strength and shape. I couldn't resist putting the dolly on a matchstick!!

Another Covered Tea Light Candle Holder

This time I tried covering the glass with a pretty floral serviette and it looks really lovely with the candlelight shining through. I used Mod Podge to affix the serviette to the glass.

I didn't Mod Podge the outside as I like the texture of the serviette....a bit like linen. Just be careful with your join as that will show through once you light your candle.

Covered Tea Light Candle Holder

I covered a small drinking glass with a page from a vintage children's book. I used Mod Podge to adhere the page to the glass. Once it was dry, I popped in a tea light and lit it. I bought my drinking glasses from an op shop and have made several holders. They make lovely gifts.

Sunflower CD Craft for a Kindergarten Class at School

I used my watercolour paints to paint a colourful background . On some light orange paper, I placed the CD. Using a pencil, I drew petals all around, trying to keep them evenly spaced. Once I outlined the petals with an orange texta, I then cut out the flower shape. Don't forget to decorate the centre of the flower.....

Using green paper, I cut out a stem and leaves and glued them on to my background...using a gluestick. Then I glued my CD onto my orange flower shape....for this I used PVA glue as the CD has a bit of weight. Only put the glue to the edge of the CD so the petals aren't stuck down, so there is some movement to them.

Finally, I glued the CD flower to the background. I tried using Sharpies (permanent markers) to decorate the CD and it turned out ok, however, this is for a Kindergarten class so I don't think the markers are suitable. Of course, if you are doing this with an older class, using permanent markers will be fun!!

Time for a plan B.

I used the same CD, but with a little help from some nail polish remover, I erased all the permanent marker design. I used squares of patterned paper and glued them on....again using PVA glue so they would adhere to the CD.  My squares were made by using a punch so they are all even, however, the children could easily just rip up small pieces of paper for their own decorations. Finally, perhaps they would like to add some dragonflies.....

Finding Treasures While Out Op Shopping

While out op shopping with my friend on Saturday, I came across this sweet little teacup and saucer. I knew it would be just perfect on my table that I had decoupaged with pictures from the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady.

Brrrr.... it is cold outside.....

When the weather is cold, we drink a lot of Choc-o-Lait. So.... what to do with the empy tins? Cover them, of course, and let them start afresh with a new lease of life....

Engagement Card ♥

My friend's beautiful daughter has become engaged to a wonderful guy and this is the engagement card I made for them....
The pics of the bunnies came from some vintage wrapping paper that was once owned by a neighbour of the daughter's grandparents.

Pink Climbing Roses....Happy Birthday Card

A pretty paper napkin with pink, climbing roses was just right for the card. I stencilled the wording and added some prisma glitter to the centre of the flowers and a pink sparkly dragonfly. The texture of the card feels like linen and the colours are soft and subdued.

Lace, Pearls, Buttons and Flowers.....Tiny Wall Hanging

I used some sweet loveheart buttons, half-pearls, scraps of vintage wrapping paper and pink lace to make this tiny wall hanging. It measures 6cm x 6cm and it is mounted on lightweight foam.

Little Sewing Book for Needles

I have made another little sewing book with paper patchwork on the front.
It is very handy to have it in your handbag if you need to do a quick repair.

I stencilled a pretty floral design on the inside cover. For the purpose of the photo I used purple thread but white would be the most practical...

Nostalgic Happy Birthday Card

https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/LinLovesPaper
In my paper stash, I have some sweet vintage wrapping paper and I used some for part of the card. The girl is reminiscent of Holly Hobbie, but she isn't, although they both have adorable bonnets. I have lots more of the paper so I am making a little notebook to match the card.

Butterflies and Sparkly Flowers.....Stitched Little Notebook

I am still using my pretty butterfly napkins to cover my little notebooks.
Inside, I have added some sweet little stickers that I made and used a mauve thread to stitch the top of the pages together. I used soft pink paper and there are 8 pages.
This is the back of the notebook...it was hard deciding which was to be the front, but the butterflies won!!

Collaged Wall Hangings

I have made some sweet little wall hangings... the size of a greeting card.... mounted on very light foam. The thickness is less than 1cm.
To hang this little picture, I used some lovely sage green embroidery thread and two pink buttons.

For this one, I used some lemon embroidery thread and two loveheart buttons.

As they are so lightweight, you can hang them anywhere and move them all around your home.

Dragonflies and Violets.....Little Notebook/Journal

https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/LinLovesPaper

I particularly love using this serviette (napkin) for my paper patchwork. A packet was given to me on my birthday a few years ago and I thought they were just too gorgeous to use at the dinner table. I have been incorporating them into my papercraft ever since!
